WHY TAKE TYVASO? PATIENTS TAKING TYVASO WALKED FARTHER
The 6-minute walk test
PH-ILD can make it difficult for you to walk more than a short distance. The 6-minute walk test (6MWT) can give you a good clue about how much your lung disease could be impacting your ability to stay active. It measures how far you can walk in 6 minutes.
TYVASO has been shown to help patients with PH-ILD be more active
In a 16-week PH-ILD clinical study, 6MWTs were compared for people who took TYVASO and those who took a placebo (an inhaled solution without medicine in it).
At the end of the study, those who took TYVASO improved the distance they could walk in 6 minutes. Those who took a placebo actually experienced a decline in the distance they were able to walk.
*69 feet is about 21 meters.

REDUCING STRAIN ON THE HEART
TYVASO provides benefits you may not realize
TYVASO may help reduce stress on your heart, measured by a marker called NT-proBNP. High NT-proBNP levels can indicate your heart is under strain, which can make it harder to stay active, exercise, or manage everyday activities. Lower levels may signal your heart is working more efficiently. Your doctor can monitor NT-proBNP levels through a blood test to help ensure TYVASO is working for you.
At week 16 of the clinical study, patients who took TYVASO had less strain on the heart (NT-proBNP decreased by 15%), while patients who took placebo had more strain on the heart (NT-proBNP increased by 46%).
NT-proBNP measures strain on the heart
While treatment can impact your NT-proBNP test results, it is not known how much of an impact those changes could have on your condition.
REDUCING THE RISK OF PH-ILD GETTING WORSE
TYVASO has been shown to reduce disease worsening
In the same study, TYVASO reduced PH-ILD from worsening by 39%.
